The 42nd Japan–EU Interparliamentary Conference in Tokyo

The 42nd Japan–EU Interparliamentary Conference was held at the International Conference Hall in the First Members’ Office Building of the House of Representatives from Wednesday, May 28, to Thursday, May 29, 2025.
The Japan–EU Interparliamentary Conference was first held in Luxembourg in 1978 and since that time has ordinarily taken place once a year, alternating between venues in Japan and Europe.
During the conference, the participants engaged in lively discussions in accordance with the agenda on “Political, economic and social situation in Japan and the EU (Update on situation in Japan; Update on situation in the EU)”; “International political and security issues (Global situation and international order (including in Europe), Situation in East and Southeast Asia)”; and “Japan–EU cooperation on common challenges (Economy and trade; Environment and energy; Digitalization/AI).”
